Data or Dogma? The Storm Surrounding Apple News’ Alleged Ideological Filter 📱⚖️
apple is facing its most significant "bias" crisis yet. a bombshell report from the media research center (mrc) has ignited a firestorm in washington, alleging that apple news has effectively blacklisted conservative viewpoints from its featured "top stories."
the shocking stats (january 2026 review):
440 vs. 0: Out of 620 featured morning stories, 440 came from left-leaning outlets. Conservative sources? Zero. * The 100-Day Silence: Data shows Apple News went over 100 consecutive days without featuring a single article from a right-leaning American outlet in its top curated spots.
Mainstream Dominance: While The Washington Post was featured 72 times and NBC News 50 times, outlets like Fox News and The NY Post were notably absent from the top editorial picks.
The Legal Heat is Rising:
FTC Warning: FTC Chairman Andrew Ferguson has officially sent a warning letter to Tim Cook. The concern? If Apple claims to offer a neutral news service but systematically suppresses specific viewpoints, it could be a violation of consumer protection laws regarding deceptive business practices.
Congressional Inquiry: Senator Marsha Blackburn is now demanding transparency on Apple’s editorial guidelines, questioning whether the app is acting as a neutral platform or a curated echo chamber.
The Bigger Picture:
Apple News is the #1 news app in the US, pre-installed on every iPhone. When "The News" becomes a one-way street, it’s no longer just a service—it’s a massive influence machine. Whether this is an algorithmic glitch or deliberate editorial policy, the pressure for transparency is at an all-time high.
My Take
It’s a shame on Apple company to use their established influence and authority to become a dangerously lopsided political pawns and weapons.

It does no good to anyone, including them too, in the long run. I don’t think they realize or capable of thinking at that level, apparently. It’s a simple common sense and a basic thing to know and act as such with some integrity.
I wonder what some of these guys on the left have consumed or what rabid disease they are contacted with, in their mind that they act this ignorant and hateful towards a wide population on the other side?!
How is it going to fix any issue even if they had a point? That needs to be said by weighing in on both sides of the story, in every case and incident and story they report on.
Journalism 101 is to have a neutral, non partisan view, as the necessary integrity the profession warrants.
Its job is to inform the ppl of the facts and give all good information in a way that helps the reader or listener to get a good handle on the events that occur.
They can’t become opinionated and take one political side to this magnitude(?) and brainwash ppl to meet their agenda and make all corrupt dealings on the backend… it’s a coup. It’s a definition of corruption.
How can journalism on these many media outlets be a paid propaganda?
It’s an unethical practice at the most fundamental level.
Grossly irresponsible. Too disturbing revelations. It’s wrong on all counts. I hope ppl on the left see it and spit it on their faces. Dirty job it is to be doing this. Utter shame!
